A Celebration of Global Sisterhood: International Women’s Month with Women from Different Parts of the World

International Women’s Month continues to serve as a powerful reminder that the progress of society is closely linked to the empowerment of women. Across continents, women are shaping industries, influencing policies, nurturing communities, and leading innovations that transform the world. From government leaders and diplomats to entrepreneurs and advocates, women today stand united by a shared vision of equality, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

One inspiring example of this global sisterhood was the celebration hosted by Leading Women Magazine through THE LIST 2026, led by Publisher, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief Grace Bondad Nicolas. Held at the Chairman’s Lounge of Okada Manila last March 26, 2026, the gathering brought together women leaders from different parts of the world, highlighting the universal value of collaboration and the importance of amplifying women’s voices across cultures.

The celebration reflected how International Women’s Month is not limited to one nation or sector. It is a global movement that honors women who champion change, promote inclusion, and inspire future generations. The presence of diplomats, public servants, entrepreneurs, and humanitarian leaders symbolized the growing influence of women in shaping international dialogue and cooperation.

A significant highlight of the evening was the keynote message delivered by Grace Poe, who emphasized that leadership must always focus on improving lives, particularly for women and children. She underscored the importance of policies that promote healthcare, education, and nutrition, recognizing that empowered mothers create stronger families and more resilient communities. Her message echoed the global understanding that progress begins by ensuring the well-being of future generations.

The celebration also featured the launch of Beyond Protocol, an initiative led by Irene Wicklein, which fosters connections among spouses of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community. The initiative highlights the meaningful contributions of women in diplomacy, emphasizing that international relations are strengthened not only through formal agreements but also through cultural exchange, humanitarian initiatives, and shared advocacies. Irene’s guests were the spouses of the Ambassadors from Egypt, Austria, Switzerland and Vietnam among others.

Women from different countries continue to demonstrate how leadership transcends borders. Diplomats and ambassadors contribute to strengthening ties between nations, while entrepreneurs create economic opportunities that empower communities. Advocates and educators promote social progress, while media leaders help shape narratives that encourage inclusion and equality.

Among those recognized during THE LIST 2026 were distinguished leaders from diverse backgrounds, including ambassadors representing Finland, Hungary, Israel, and Indonesia, as well as leaders from the public and private sectors. Their achievements reflect how women continue to shape governance, diplomacy, business, and humanitarian work. Each story serves as a testament to resilience, innovation, and dedication to service.

Grace Bondad Nicolas highlighted the role of media in amplifying these stories of courage and transformation. Through platforms such as Leading Women Magazine, narratives of perseverance and achievement reach wider audiences, inspiring young women to believe in their capacity to lead and contribute meaningfully to society.

International Women’s Month celebrations around the world emphasize unity in diversity. Whether in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, or the Americas, women continue to advocate for equal opportunities, inclusive policies, and stronger support systems that allow future leaders to thrive.

The global gathering at THE LIST 2026 illustrated how women’s leadership extends beyond titles and positions. It is reflected in actions that promote compassion, collaboration, and progress. The shared vision among women leaders from different parts of the world reinforces the belief that empowering women strengthens societies and creates opportunities for sustainable development.

International Women’s Month reminds us that every woman’s story contributes to a larger narrative of empowerment. As women continue to lead with purpose and integrity, they help build a future where equality, opportunity, and respect remain guiding principles for generations to come.

An inspiring celebration of unity, diversity, and leadership, women shaping the world with purpose, presence, and power.

Leadership in Focus: Senator Grace Poe as Keynote Speaker

At the heart of the evening was keynote speaker, presenter, and honoree Grace Poe, whose message highlighted the critical role of governance in empowering women, protecting children, and strengthening families.

Senator Poe emphasized that leadership is not measured by title alone but by the policies and programs that improve lives. Her speech underscored the importance of legislation that addresses fundamental needs such as healthcare, nutrition, and education—areas that directly affect women and future generations.

Among the laws she highlighted was the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act, institutionalizing a national feeding program that supports children’s health and academic performance. She also spoke about the First 1,000 Days Act, which provides vital healthcare and nutrition programs for mothers and infants, recognizing that early childhood development significantly influences long-term national growth.

According to Poe, empowering mothers means strengthening families, and strengthening families contributes to nation-building. Her keynote message reinforced that public service must always be guided by compassion, inclusivity, and foresight.

She also reflected on the influence of her mother, Susan Roces, whose discipline and grace shaped her values of responsibility and integrity. Her personal narrative illustrated how leadership often begins at home, rooted in lessons of humility, perseverance, and service.

During the program, Senator Poe also acknowledged the contributions of Grace Bondad Nicolas and her mother Remy Bondad, emphasizing the importance of family support systems in shaping confident and purpose-driven leaders.

Launch of Beyond Protocol: Diplomacy with Heart

A significant highlight of the evening was the launch of Beyond Protocol, led by Irene Wicklein, which gathered spouses of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community. The initiative recognizes that diplomacy extends beyond formal meetings, it also thrives through cultural understanding, humanitarian collaboration, and shared advocacies.

The presence of diplomatic spouses from various embassies demonstrated how international partnerships can contribute to meaningful causes, including education, social welfare, arts, and cultural exchange. Beyond Protocol aims to provide a platform for collaboration among women who play influential yet often understated roles in strengthening international relations.

Their presence added a global dimension to the celebration, reinforcing how women contribute not only to national progress but also to international dialogue and cooperation.

Senator Grace Poe: A Nite filled with Purpose, Presence and Power

In celebration of International Women’s Month, Leading Women Magazine headed by its Publisher, CEO and Editor-In-Chief Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas gathered distinguished leaders, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and advocates at the Chairman’s Lounge of Okada Manila for THE LIST 2026, an annual recognition honoring women whose work continues to influence industries, communities, and public life.

The evening highlighted the evolving role of women in leadership, from policy-making and diplomacy to wellness, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian work. Each honoree represented a different dimension of leadership, yet shared a common commitment to service, growth, and social responsibility.

At the center of the celebration was keynote speaker, awardee, and presenter, Senator Grace Poe, whose presence highlighted the importance of legislation and governance in creating opportunities for women, children, and families. Her keynote address set the tone for the evening, emphasizing that leadership is measured not only by achievement but by impact on society.

Senator Grace Poe: Leadership Anchored on Policy and Purpose

As keynote speaker, Senator Grace Poe delivered a speech grounded on the responsibility of leadership to create meaningful and lasting change. Having served in public office since 2010, Poe highlighted the importance of policies that directly support families, particularly mothers and children.

She spoke about the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act, a law institutionalizing a national feeding program in public schools. The measure addresses classroom hunger, a long-recognized barrier to effective learning. By ensuring that children receive proper nutrition during school hours, the program supports both educational performance and family well-being.

Poe also emphasized the significance of the First 1,000 Days Act, which strengthens healthcare and nutrition programs from pregnancy until a child reaches two years old. Medical and development experts identify this period as critical to physical growth and cognitive development. The law supports maternal healthcare services and nutrition programs that contribute to long-term national productivity.

According to Poe, public policy plays a direct role in shaping equal opportunities. She noted that when mothers are supported through healthcare access and social programs, families gain stability, and children are better prepared for education.

Her message reflected the idea that investing in women’s welfare is closely linked to national progress. She emphasized that leadership requires both policy action and personal commitment to public service.

Personal Influence and Foundations of Leadership

In her speech, Senator Grace Poe also reflected on the influence of her mother, Susan Roces, who was widely recognized in Philippine cinema. Poe shared that her mother’s discipline, composure, and sense of duty shaped her understanding of leadership.

She described leadership as grounded in consistency and integrity, rather than visibility alone. Her reflections illustrated how personal experiences often inform public decisions, particularly in areas related to family welfare and social protection.

During the program, Senator Poe also greeted Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas and her mother Remy Bondad on stage, recognizing the role of family support in the journeys of women who lead organizations and initiatives.

Her presence at THE LIST 2026 symbolized the connection between governance and community development, particularly in areas where legislation affects education, healthcare, and social welfare systems.

THE LIST 2026 brought together leaders whose work reflects varied forms of influence across sectors:

Policy as a Platform for Opportunity

The keynote address of Senator Grace Poe highlighted the connection between legislation and opportunity creation. Laws supporting nutrition, healthcare, and education address structural barriers that affect families nationwide.

Poe noted that leadership often involves working within systems that require reform, particularly when addressing concerns affecting women and children.

Billionaire Philanthropist Mikee Romero Meets Readers at Rising Tigers Magazine Signing

Pasay City, Philippines — Readers and supporters of inspiring leadership will gather for a special magazine signing event featuring billionaire, philanthropist, and sportsman Mikee Romero, who graces the March cover of Rising Tigers Magazine.

The event will take place on March 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at National Book Store inside SM Mall of Asia.

Organized by Rising Tigers Magazine, the gathering offers readers a rare opportunity to personally meet the distinguished leader featured in the publication. The magazine signing will be led by Andrew Troy Nicolas, chairman of Tag Media Group, who continues to champion stories of leadership, governance, and community service through the organization’s media platforms.

Romero has been named “Man of the Year” by Rising Tigers Magazine, recognizing a lifetime of national impact defined by vision, execution, and service that reaches every corner of the Philippines—across business, public service, sports, military leadership, and humanitarian action.

He is recognized for repeatedly turning ideas into vision—and vision into action—building multimillion-dollar companies from the ground up and transforming them into industry-leading enterprises in port terminals across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, as well as in logistics, aviation, real estate, power generation, and renewable energy. These ventures have strengthened national connectivity, trade, job creation, and energy security. His entrepreneurial excellence was affirmed early when, at age 40, he became the youngest Filipino included in the 2013 Forbes Philippines 50 Richest list.

In public service, Romero stands out as one of the most productive lawmakers in Philippine history. As a three-term congressman and former Senior Deputy Speaker, he authored and co-authored more than 1,200 bills, with 148 enacted into Republic Acts during his tenure. These include landmark legislation such as Free College Tuition, Universal Healthcare, the Mental Health Act, the Eddie Garcia Law, and the strengthening of the 4Ps program, reshaping education, healthcare, and social protection for millions of Filipinos.

His national influence also extends strongly into sports development. Romero has played a key role in elevating and professionalizing national sports federations, strengthening governance, improving athlete support systems, and helping Filipino athletes compete successfully on the international stage—contributing to national pride and the long-term development of sports institutions.

Beyond enterprise, policy, and sports, his leadership is deeply anchored in humanitarian service. As a Full Colonel in the Philippine Air Force Reserve, he contributed to efforts supporting the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, including initiatives that helped enable the acquisition of three C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, vital for defense, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.

Romero has also led and supported relief operations during typhoons and floods in Central Luzon and earthquakes in Cebu and Davao. His humanitarian missions have reached some of the country’s most remote communities—from Mavulis and Itbayat in the north, Pag-asa Island in the West Philippine Sea, to Mapun and Taganak in the far south, and even the mountainous areas of North Cotabato. He has also spent Christmas with Aeta communities in Pampanga and Zambales, bringing food, clothing, toys, and hope to indigenous families.

The Rising Tigers Magazine “Man of the Year” recognition honors Romero not for a single achievement, but for a sustained record of building industries, passing transformative legislation, elevating sports, strengthening national defense, and serving the most vulnerable—measured by lives touched, communities reached, and a nation strengthened.

During the event, guests will also have the opportunity to interact with Romero alongside special guests from the Capital1 Solar Spikers.

“We’re the only publication that can hold magazine signing events at National Book Stores nationwide, and it has become a meaningful platform for our leaders to connect with readers. We’re grateful to National Book Store for this partnership,” said Grace Bondad Nicolas (EIC and CEO of Rising Tigers Magazine)

Kapihan Sa Manila Bay 11th Anniversary

Senate President Vicente Sotto III was the guest speaker on the 11th Anniversary of Kapihan Sa Manila Bay March 11, 2026. S P  discussed the need for stronger safeguards against fake news at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum at Cafe Adriatico. He emphasized that while press freedom and free expression are important, there must be accountability for spreading false information. Sotto is pushing for provisions that mandate the immediate removal of fake news from online platforms, citing the current cyberlibel law's lack of takedown provisions.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III  addressed members of the media and discussed pressing national and international issues.

The forum, hosted by veteran journalist Marichu Villanueva, gathered reporters, commentators, and invited guests for a lively exchange with the Senate leader as part of the program’s continuing series of policy discussions with key national figures.

During the question-and-answer session, Sotto shared his views on current geopolitical developments, including tensions in the Middle East, and their possible implications for global stability and the Philippines. The Senate President emphasized the importance of diplomacy, cooperation among nations, and careful monitoring of developments that could affect Filipino workers and overseas communities.

Sotto also touched on domestic governance and legislative priorities, highlighting the role of the Senate in maintaining transparency, independence, and accountability in government. He reiterated the importance of informed public discourse and constructive dialogue between policymakers and the media.

The Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum has long served as an informal yet influential venue where government officials engage directly with journalists on national issues. The March 11 gathering also marked a milestone for the program as it celebrated its 11th anniversary, continuing its tradition of fostering open discussions on matters of public interest.

Held at Café Adriatico in Manila’s historic Malate district, the event provided a platform for candid exchanges between the Senate leader and the press, reflecting the enduring role of media forums in shaping public awareness and policy conversations.
