Mr. James Velasquez, President & CEO of PT&T— a telecommunications services provider in the Philippines catering to corporate, small/medium business, and residential segments across the country, will be honored during the launch of business and lifestyle magazine Rising Tigers: Nation Builders as one of its Top 50 Rising Tigers in the Asia Pacific.

Reinventing the Old ways
Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (PT&T), is one of the major telecommunications services provider in the Philippines since its founding in 1962. The company caters to corporate, small/medium business, and residential segments across the country.
Mr. Velasquez’ joining PT&T has led the company to reinvent itself, evolving from telegram and pager company they are known for, to providing superior connectivity to businesses now thru hi speed broadband, fiber internet and VSAT services.
“We are here to connect everyone thru hi speed broadband and fiber internet. Today across the Pilippines, we have over 18000 km and still counting…fiber optic cables reaching speed of up to 1 gigabit per second.” Velasquez shared when asked on what clients can expect from them.
Carrying the tagline, “Beyond Connectivity,” PT&T’s business activities are categorized into two major businesses: Connectivity and IT Services.

Decades of Experience
Mr. Velasquez has been in the IT industry for over 30 years. He joined PT&T in 2018 as Director and President, with the goal of enabling SMEs access to enterprise-grade solutions, on top of his large enterprise focus. He is currently a board member of MRC Allied, 5GS Security and DRI Philippines.
He was once a Senior Executive for IBM Global Technology Services – Asia Pacific, where he played a hand in the digital transformation journeys of dozens of large enterprises in the Philippines and in Asia, helping harden their IT infrastructure, as well as optimize and scale their businesses.
Under his leadership, PT&T gained recognition from several Technology award giving bodies. They bagged two prestigious titles at The Global Economic Awards 2021. PT&T was recognized for its client innovation, as well as its drive for customer-centricity while being agile in our response to the pandemic. They were also named the Most Innovative Telecom Services Provider and the Best CSR Initiatives – Philippines. PT&T also won the Learning & Development (L&D) Organization of the Year for Private Sector at the recently concluded 5th Gawad Maestro Awards 2021.
