Pandemic President of JCI Makati and Honouree under American Association of the Philippines

2021 JCI Makati President Lawrence Li Tan has produced over 500 projects in the first six months of his term.  Placing positive change and long-term impact as main focus of his projects, Tan was able to touch lives of thousands of Filipinos who were deeply affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

One of his stellar projects was HEROES program of PTTC of DTI which aims to help displaced and expatriated OFWs to become entrepreneurs.  JCI Makati under tan’s leadership created modules that helped develop new Ex-OFW entrepreneurs   in the country.  League of Leaders is another priority project where tan together with his Board of Directors designed leadership programs for the youth.  This project’s goal is to create more Filipino youth leaders who will be advocates of change that will help our country to rise up faster from the pandemic.

Lawrence “Lance” Li Tan is a multi-awarded businessman having opened 16 hotels, shopping centers, food chains, transport terminals and is also a member of the academe.   Tagged as the Museum Prince in Asia, Tan has been a tourism advocate ever since, but this has gotten deeper when his love for the Philippines is on the table.

For this year, Lance is one of the honourees under American Association of the Philippines (AAP) for his spectacular programs for the Indigents along with other leaders.

Hidden Hills Farm by Josefino: A Day Tour

The sunrise beakon to a lovely day for us tag media group enroute to Hidden Hills Farm by Josefino. Taking a break from the  summer heat of the metro.

On our way to the South and with the weather forecast of a rainy day, we were weary on how can the farm tour be enjoyable. Since rain came pouring in while approaching the place.

Upon reaching our destination Eng Grace Bondad Nicolas warmly greeted us with a gift of pink shirt for us to wear in touring the farm. Then we proceeded to the farm, where a sumptuous lunch was being prepared for the group. After a hearty meal the rain stopped, signaling us to view the different fruit bearing trees.

We got to taste the ripe casoy, the juiciness of the yellow ripen fruit and it's sweetness.

There was the golden star apple that is also ready for picking. When the color turns golden or yellowish it is ready to be eaten. And the leaves are also saleable since it helps those with cancer.

The Lipote fruit a variety of duhat is also abundant. It is eaten with salt, shaken in a container and ready to serve. It has medicinal value for those who has diabetes, high blood pressure and hypertension.

All the plants and fruits in the farm are organic. Several fruit bearing trees abound in the place.

The fresh air with the view of Mount Makiling and being surrounded by delicious and nutritious bounty harvest was indeed a day you'll reckon and wish to live in a piece of Shangrila. When September comes the Lanzones trees are ready for fruit picking. Looking forward  to this harvest time.

Grateful to the hospitality of the entire family of Hidden Hills Farm Of Josefino even "Mommy Bear" the mother of Eng Grace gave us fruits inside a vase perhaps reminding us to plant a tree and be able to contribute to a greener world. It was indeed an enjoyable and educational tour.

Come and experience the beauty of nature located at 1 Barangay Imok, Calauan, Laguna via Barangay Mabacan. Boundary of Balay hangin and Mabacan.

The Yellow Man with a heart of gold for the indigents

The Yellow Man under the 2021 JCI Makati President, and award winning entrepreneur, Lawrence Li Tan who just want to put smile on the faces of the people on the streets and instill hope in their hearts when the act of kindness reaches them.  Yellow Man’s main purpose is to let these people know that they are never forgotten even if they are in a society that is bombarded by the problems brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

The front liners especially those who are involved in deliveries of food, courier, security guards, policemen were also part of Yellow Man’s daily act of kindness.  They also stop to give them food packs or burger meals whenever they see these front liners along the way.

Yellow Man also visited the children in Sisters of Mary School in Silang Cavite to give sports equipment that the in-house 2,000 boys can use during their idle time.  This act of Yellow Man helped these young boys to develop their social and psychomotor skills that gears them to be balanced young men of this society.

Yellow Man is a symbolic project of JCI Makati representing compassion on humanity amidst the danger of this pandemic.  Yellow Man roam the streets of Metro Manila, Cavite and Laguna for more than a month to provide hot meals and food packs to street dwellers.  It was then that JCI Makati brothers learned the plight of these people, which encouraged them more to do better in doing projects that will have long-term impact on the community that they serve as well as help the country lift itself to economic recovery.

Yellow Men of JCI Makati  traverse the streets clad in citrus yellow PPE, has been the uniform of kindness for JCI Makati brothers.  Each go out on their own individual capacity to help hidden in the happy yellow suit, not wanting to be identified, because they believe that kindness should be freely given and no expectation must be attached to it.

This project brought so much appreciation from the other chapters of JCI Philippines, that others did their own version of yellow man, blue man from Luzon as far as

This June as rainy season starts, Yellow Man will continue its purpose in giving hot meals and clothes fit for rainy days to the street dwellers.  Small as it may be, but little act of kindness like what Yellow Man is doing makes a big difference in the life of the people who are on the streets.
