Frederick Dy Ong, President and CEO of Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, Inc (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the Philippines—will be given due recognition during the launch of business and lifestyle magazine Rising Tigers: Nation Builders as one of the Top 50 Rising Tigers in the Asia Pacific.

This latest publication will feature the best and the brightest in the Philippines and Southeast Asia who never fail to balance commitment to growth with corporate social responsibility, in time of uncertainty.

“Asia Leaders Awards Presents the Top 50 Rising Tigers in the Asia Pacific to motivate us all that, in spite of the challenges, we will emerge triumphant. These are the top leaders with the very new vision of the world now,” shared billionaire Robert Laurel Yupangco, an esteemed member of the ALA Board.

Harnessing 25 Years of Sales Leadership

Frederick D. Ong, an Economics graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, is an epitome of that leader of the future who never fails to emerge triumphant amid challenges, transforming his company into his vision of the future.

“I feel honored to have been chosen to lead a dynamic team of ethical and purpose-driven individuals who are leading the industry to transition into a more sustainable business model that puts priority on the people, environment, and the future of the world,” Ong said in a statement after his appointment to PPCPI’s top post.

He harnesses his 25-year senior level experience and expertise in commercial management to “lead high performance teams across cultures” and “drive innovative business improvement aligned with PPCPI’s sustainable business approach.”

Ong rose from the ranks as Marketing Trainee to Senior Brand Manager for Nestle Philippines, Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Metrobank Card Corporation, National Sales Operations Director for The Coca Cola Export Corporation, and Customer Development Director for Johnson & Johnson Philippines.

He then became Director of Sales for Reckitt Benckiser SDN BHB, International Customers Pacific Group Director for Coca-Cola Far East Limited, and Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Samsung before finally taking over the helm of PPCPI.

Leading PPCPI to Environmental Sustainability

Under Ong’s leadership, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc, in 2021, goes full blast in reaffirming its commitment to sustainable business practices as it focuses on environmental protection and stewardship.

PCPPI has continued to practice light weighting to drastically cut virgin plastic in their plastic packaging materials—saving 118 metric tons of plastic resin, or 6 million PET bottles!, as of September 2021—and save cartons as secondary packaging.

Likewise, PCPPI has continually engaged in boosting its stewardship of water forms—adopting six bodies of water under its care—through local coastal cleanup drives by having its Batangas, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and La Union regional offices partner up with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

“PCPPI has fervently elevated our business practices to benefit the environment and the people. It’s still a long journey towards achieving plastic neutrality, but we are happy to see that we’re making remarkable progress and positive impact on the environment,” Ong said.

PCCPI manufactures 7-Up, Aquafina, Gatorade, Lipton, Milkis, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Mug, Premier, Sting, Tropicana, and, of course, Pepsi-Cola.

Hey Pretty Founder & CEO Anne Barretto: Hailed Among Top 50 “Rising Tigers: Nation Builders”

Anne Barretto, President and CEO of Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center—a 16-branch strong super affordable beauty transformation hub—will be honored during the launch of business and lifestyle magazine Rising Tigers: Nation Builders as one of the Top 50 Rising Tigers in the Asia Pacific.

This latest publication will feature the best and the brightest in the Philippines and Southeast Asia who never fail to balance commitment to growth with corporate social responsibility, even during the most trying times.

Inspiring Rags to Riches Story for All

Anne Barretto, at only 31 years old, is a role model for Filipinos as that leader of the future who emerged triumphant amid challenges, transforming herself, her social status, and her company into her vision of the future.

“Motivated by two cans of sardines for dinner after my father got sick and was laid off from work, I strove harder to give my family a comfortable life,” she recalled.

What began as P200-P300 from doing her classmates makeup for on- and off-campus events, she was able to save enough and dream big enough to pursue cosmetology and become an aesthetician, an expert on cosmetic skin treatments.

Rising to the challenge of financial insecurity, she emerges triumphant motivated by the familiar hardships of poverty to open Hey Pretty Aesthetic Clinic in 2018, which likewise rose from the pandemic as a thriving business.

“Because my business is my passion, not one of my clinics closed during the lockdowns. By opening mobile clinics to continue serving my growing clientele, helping others, I prospered with my efforts backed up by God,” she related.

It was during the pandemic that her Hey Pretty Skin line was born, a success story that mass media picked up quickly landing her life story on Korina’s Rated K show!

“Never give up on your dreams. If you can start it, as I did, you can also do it. Follow your passion. Love what you really love doing and success will follow,” she said.

Making Beauty Affordable to Everyone

She established her own company, empowering women to empower themselves, and advocating for personal aesthetic transformation.

“My appreciation for beauty and wellness has led me to build one of the fastest growing aesthetic clinics in the Philippines,” shared Barretto.

Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center, an immensely popular and affordable aesthetic clinic founded in 2018, has grown so fast that it already has 16 branches nationwide in just three years!

“Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center, however, is not your typical beauty and wellness center,” she revealed.

“It is the start of people’s transformation into better versions of themselves, transforming them into a more confident new you.”

Hence, Barretto did not stop with a one-stop beauty transformation shop.

She wanted to grant women’s wishes for more opportunity to reach their potential led her to found Hey Pretty Skin.

“We want women entrepreneurs to start their own business, so we help them from the start and continuously support them along the way,” she explained.

Hey Pretty Skin is her flagship company’s direct marketing arm for beauty and skin regimen.
