Artist JefCon for Gallery of the World

The only known and acknowledged art mentor of the Philippines' first female president and an icon of democracy, the late Corazon "Cory" Aquino was still active and kicking in sharing his love for paintings. Artist Jeffrey Consumo or JefCon can still vividly recall the late president as a prolific painter.

JefCon famous student and the mother of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III took painting classes from him from1996 to 1999 and attended the classes weekly. According to JefCon, “She started it as a hobby and eventually I learned that she continuously paints even the classes under me is done. That’s passion. “

For this year, JefCon with the help of Tag Media Group where he  just signed a contract for his marketing and public relations got a chance to meet another person with a Philippines presidential lineage. The grandson of former President Jose P. Laurel and a philanthropist accepted his proposal to showcase his arts at the “Gallery of the world” inside the newly built “Ayala By the Bay” along Macapagal in Pasay.

Gallery of the world is the newest project under the Yupangco Group of Companies that will House 3 shops with engaging activities from Zoomanity Group, Yupangco Music Academy and Yupangco Electronics Corporation.

JefCon paintings will be up for auction and will have painting workshops and lots of activities for the young artists.

Zoomanity Group celebrated the US 4th of July

CARING FOR THE COUNTRY'S CARRYING CAPACITY

The 41st Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) will be  held on July 10 to 11, 2019 at EDSA Shangri-la, Mandaluyong. The 41st ASM is hosted by the NAST PHL Mathematical and Physical Science Division with the theme " Caring for the Country's Carrying Capacity."

This annual activity of NAST PHL, attended by some 700 representative from industry, government, and academe, serves as the leading forum for scientific discourse and will culminate in the submission of policy recommendations on appropriate interventions by government and the private sector in realizing the goalos of the Philippine development agenda.

This year, the ASM shall focus on addressing three Sustainable Development Goals. This includes Goal 4-Quality Education. Presentations geared towards Goal 12-Responsible consumption and production will also be delivered, with particular focus on plastics. A plenary session on sustainable marine and food security will be conducted in line with SDG Goal 14-Life below water.

This year's ASM will present an evidence-based holistic analysis of these issues with particular focus on the basic scientific principles needed to address them.

National Scientists and Academicians from NAST PHL and representatives from leading higher institutions are expected to present discussions for the event's plenary sessions. International experts, namely Dr. Andrew H.J. Wang, former Vice President of the Institute of Biological Chemistry in Academia Sinica, Taiwan and Professor Yoo Han Kim, President of the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia, will deliver the keynote addresses.

The resolutions formulated in these RSMs were then consolidated and will be presented during the ASM which will afterwards be transmitted to the Office of the President, the Cabinet, and the Congress for their consideration and appropriate action.

Also part of the two-day program is the recognition ceremonies for the following awards: Best Scientific Poster Award, Outstanding Scientific Papers, Outstanding Books and Monographs, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Prize for Young Scientists in the Philippines, NAST Environmental Science Award, Maysaysay Future Engineers/Technologists Award, NAST Talent Search for Young Scientists, Outstanding Young Scientist (OYS), and Investiture of the new Academicians.

NAST PHL is an attached agency to the Department of Science and Technology mandated by law to recognize outstanding achievements and advise the President and the Cabinet on matters related to Science and Technology.

US dollars can be converted into DUSD tokens via the WBF exchange, and then transferred to an investors Ethereum wallet. The inverse transaction holds true as well: if users deposit their DUSD tokens into their wallet for redemption, they can be converted back to USD.

The U.S. dollars that correspond to the issued DUSD token will be held in multiple banks located in the United States (eligible for FDIC deposit insurance, subject to applicable limitations).  In addition, the U.S. dollar deposit balance will be audited monthly by an independent registered public accounting firm to verify the 1:1 peg.

By pegging itself to the USD at ratio of 1:1, DUSD essentially is an asset backed stable token (tokenized asset) and is based on the IOU model. The DUSD token is basedon the Ethereum platform.

The Philippines hosts the first Sesame Street Run Tour
