GO NEGOSYO OFFERS FREE NEGOSYO MENTORSHIP TO THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY!

Creativity and innovation are considered as great attributes to successsful business model. With these two, artists who are part of the different arts industries such as performing arts, visual arts, fashion and lifestyle, events, crafts, culinary arts, digital arts, and advertising and publishing can turn their passion and creativity into successful enterprises.


Last April 8, 2019, GO NEGOSYO organized a free mentorship on creativity and innovation at the Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall.


GO NEGOSYO, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, conducted a special installment of Mentor ME On Wheels which focused on Filipino creativity and innovation. The program has traveled long from luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and eyes to reach a total of 30 cities across the Philippines also with the goal to bring free mentorship closer to every Filipino.


MMOW Creativity and Innovation presented mentors from the creative industry to impart their know-how and technical skills to participants. Mentors from the creative industry were Bernie Liu, CEO and President of Golden ABC Inc; Rajo Laurel, Fashion Designer and Founder of House of Laurel; Jay Aldeguer, President of Island Souvenirs Group; Zarah Juan, Founder of Zarah Juan; and 70 more mentors! Moreover, GO NEGOSYO mentors from the non-creative industry also shared their expertise during the event. In the list were Rikki Dee, CEO Foodlink Group and Joel Santos, Managing Director and President THAMES International-Entrepreneurs School of Asia among others.


MMOW on Creativity and Innovation is a mentorship discussion with aspiring and existing MSMEs in the creative industry. It aims to elevate the level of creativity with the help of mentorship and digitalization that will give wider access to market for their products and talents.


Through MMOW and Mentor Me Online-the mobile application for mentoring, GO NEGOSYO and DTI, gives aspiring and existing micro and small entrepreneurs a chance to be mentored for free and offers technical know-how and practical entrepreneurship strategies.

DOST to showcase R&D result in research confab


To further promote the products and results of government-funded research and development ( R&D ), the Department of Science and Technology ( DOST ) will be conducting its 4th National Research and Development Conference ( NRDC ) on 3 April 2019 at the Reception Hall, Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.

Bearing the theme " Harmonized R&D towards Acceletated National Growth and Prosperity ", the annual national conference will showcase R&D products and results funded by DOST and by other partner agencies such as the Commission on Higher Education, and the Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of National Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Health, and Department of Trade and Industry.

Twenty-four experts from the agriculture, academe, food, industry, and pharmaceutical sector will be converging in said event to present the products and results of their research through a laymanized type of lecture. Through this, the DOST and its partner agencies aim to highlight the importance of technology transfer in ensuring that the R&D results will have valuable contribution to the country's economic development.

At the helm of event are DOST officials
such as Secretary Fortunato T. de la Pena, Undersecretary for R&D Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, and Assistant Secretary for International Cooperation Leah J. Buendia. Asec Buendia, who is one of the 24 experts to present in the 4th NRDC, will be discussing science and technology initiatives in the intetnationl landscape.

Spearheaded by the DOST, the 4th NRDC is a regular national conference of all government funding agencies and R&D institutes in compliance with the Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009 with the purpose of promoting multi-disciplinary, joint, and cross collaboration in R&D; coordinating and rationalizing R&D agenda; and harmonizing all R&D agenda and priorities. NRDC 2019: Creating a hub for invention and technology commercialization


The Department of Science and Technology
DOST held April 3, 2019 the 4th National Research and Development Conference NRDC2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center ( PICC ), CCP Complex in Pasay City. The theme of the NRDC 2019 is:
" Harmonized R&D Towards Accelerated Growth and Prosperity . "  The event showcased the significant research and development efforts of government agencies in health, agriculture, industry, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and basic research by Filipino scientists and engineers.

NRDC 2019 aims to bring to the public the products/results of R&D funded by all the government funding agencies such as Commission on Higher Education ( CHED ),
Department of Agriculture ( DA ), Department of Environment and Natural Resources ( DENR ), Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), Department of National Defense (DND), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and DOST. The event highlighted the importance of technology transfer to ensure that research and development results would contribute to social and economic development.

" I am very pleased that the other government funding agencies have joined us in organizing this event," said DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena. " Banking on the goals of AmbisyonNatin 2040, the NRDC 2019, clearly signifies the willingness and readiness of those of us in the government to work together in stimulating the country's
progress and accelerating development. We also recognize the support of our partners from the academe and private sector in pursuing this worthwhile endeavor."

Through the NRDC, the research and development efforts of government institutions in collaboration with universities and research and development institutions are given the opportunity to convene and harmonize their shared objectives to ensure effective implementation and maximize benefit to the Filipino people.

Coming up is a one-hour motivational and lifestyle-business talk show, “The Awesome Life – Live Life to the Fullest”, hosted by motivational speaker and life coach Al Ian Barcelona (AIB) and co-hosted by Ptr. Jun Sibanico of KLM (Kingdom Living Ministry). 
On its pilot episode, the discussion revolves around new beginnings and living a successful life not just in business but in life as a whole. Mr. Awesome Al Ian Barcelona (AIB) begins with his “Awesome Thoughts” and gave some tips on how to begin one’s journey. To explore other areas of life’s new beginnings, Co-host Pastor Jun Sibanico joins in and shares about the KLM (Kingdom Living Ministry) and its humble beginnings.
