Koronadal Launches the First of its kind Motorcycle Festival



The first of its kind Koronadal Motorcycle Festival is set to attract thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts few weeks from now...



More or less 5,000 under - bone small bikes and strong big bike enthusiasts from all parts of the Philippines and other countries like Malaysia and Indonesia are expected to cruise the streets of the City of Koronadal for this year's holding of the 23rd Annual Convention of tge National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines  NFMCP on April 28 - 29, 2017 where Koronadal plays host.



To intensify the call for advocacy for riding safety, the City Government of Koronadal has prepared a week long celebration dubbed as " Koronadal Motorcycle Festival " running from the 22nd to the 30th of April, 2017 at the Rizal Park, City of Koronadal.



The 9 day grand motorcycle extravaganza is jam packed with worthwhile activities such as conferences, symposia on road courtesies and traffic regulations, skills training and other capacity building seminar workshops for thousands of local motorists : motorcycle, tricycle & habal-habal drivers etc. from Koronadal and the whole of SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

Add to this is the official attempt on April 29, 2017 to break the Guinness World Records for the Largest Parade of Motorcycle,  Most Motorcycle Horns Sounded Simultaneously and Most Engines Started Simultaneously.



Currently India holds the record for the Largest Parade of Motorcycles with 1,700 participants while Yamaha Philippines holds the Most Engines Started Simultaneously with 1,446 partcipants and Most Motorcycle Horns Sounded Simultaneously with 1,425 participants.

Koronadal endeavors to beat the records by committing at least 3,000 motorcycles for the official attempt.



As to peace and order as well as security challenges " The safety and welfare of festival goers is utmost to the success of the festival. Since public safety is our No. 1 priority, our security masterplan  ensured to address all aspects of our security needs for a successful Motorcycle Festival," City Mayor Peter B. Miguel, current President of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines, Inc.,  ( NFMCI, Inc. ) said in one of his interviews with the media. Moreover, during the pre-event planning sessions, augmentation of the strong security system was established through the support of neighboring cities and municipalities to ensure the safety and security of the participants passing by their Area of Responsibility ( AOR ). Mayor Miguel was confident about Koronadal's readiness to host big events owing to the past years' hosting of significant gatherings like the Koronadal International Folklore Festival where 9 countries from around the world filled the streets of the city and made a big desirable twist in the history of Koronadal by capturing the international spotlight.

Further, Mayor Miguel promised endless fun and excitement for the participants to anticipate. " All participants will never regret if they join the Annual Convention. We expect carousing big Bikers from Luzon and Visayas to take routes of Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Davao, Cotabato and Dipolog, a chance to marvel at the beauty of Mindanao.
Also, the festival includes Motorcycle Trade Fairs, Motor Shows & Exhibits/ Promotions/ Product Display, Drivers Congress, Safety Riders Seminar, Enduro Challenge, Unity Convergence Ride from different entry point of Region XII to Koronadal Cultural Fashion Show, and many more.  Some Manila based motorcycle manufacturers and distributors will be having static displays of their latest models too " Mayor Miguel said in a media interview.



Themed as " Ride for Culture, Ride for Peace",  the 3 day Convention is also an opportune time for the participants to experience and explore the best of Koronadal, SOCCSKSARGEN region and the island of Mindanao. This year's theme promotes road discipline as the key to road safety for motorcycle drivers. With increasing numbers of Filipinos riding on two wheels especially those so called under - bone small bikes, the convention focused on advocating the call for safety and proper courtesy for a safer and more satisfying motorcycling.

The National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. ( NFMCI,Inc. ) was founded in 1995 and is composed of primarily Filipino motorcyclists with 369 federation members or around 10,000 individual members nationwide. President Rodrigo Duterte, considerd the father of the Davao City - based " Any Sunday Rider " motorcycle club, was also invited to grace the convebtion, Hosting of this motorcycle convention is done round robin from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
